not enuff

hi guys,

“not enuff” is out now. the first piece of tether. it’s not a fun one lol but honestly it hasn’t been a fun decade. i know for a lot of us quarter lifers there’s a huge feeling of uneasyness. the world shut down for 2 years while we were trying to find our place in it. it reopened and began telling us we’re replaceable, it doesn’t need us, we’re not enough. every day those sentiments grow from so many different avenues in our lives: work, relationships, whiplash rewatches, our own thoughts about ourselves. the truth is we are enough. we can be more, but we are enough. & hopefully this song can purge those doubts out of you and remind you that the world around you is stupid. your boss is stupid. your man is stupid. your algorithm is stupid. don’t be stupid like them.

keep going, see y’all in a month-ish for a funner (maybe) time.

often times we define ourselves by our attachments. wether that's our relationships, the geography we’re bound to, or the things we found as 15 year olds on the internet that we can’t let go of. in high school i was the kid with too many windbreakers who made weird beats. i have less windbreakers now lol but i still make weird beats and always make sure to check the athletic jacket section at any value village or talize i go to. maybe we can’t let go because we don’t know who or what we really are without them. it’s comfort. it’s compulsion. we are tethered.

i look backwards an unhealthy amount. there’s a lot of empty space in between my memories of the past. maybe i should’ve been more present in my late teens and early 20s. but the memories i do have carry a lot of weight and it’s hard to let go. so naturally, as any other human being would, i made an album in a time where albums are dead to explore these connections lol. it’s called tether. it’ll be yours shortly but for now just stay posted, click the mail thing in the bottom right and tell me what your tether is.
